Junior Age Group (JAG)

Start Date: September 15, 2025
End Date: May 31, 2026 (qualified swimmers may train later)

Seasonal Breaks

  • Christmas: December 20, 2025 – January 11, 2026

  • Easter: April 3–6, 2026

Season Overview

The JAG group follows a 9-month season, ending in May. Swimmers who qualify for Festivals will continue training into June 2026. Training schedules may be adjusted during this extended period.

Group Focus

  • For swimmers ages 8–11

  • Skill-based training with emphasis on:

    • Technique in all four strokes: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle

    • Consistent work off the blocks and walls

  • Perfecting skills for advancement into TAG

Registration Fees

  • JAG (Travel): $2,500 (includes Swim Alberta fees, swim meet entry fees)

  • JAG (Home): $2,100 (includes Swim Alberta fees, AMAC home meet entry fees)

Commitments

  • Fundraising Obligation: $400 (helps offset registration fees)

  • Bingos: 3 per family per season (regardless of number of children)

  • Hosted Swim Meets: Each family is responsible for volunteering for each session at all 3 hosted meets (4–5 sessions per meet, 2–3 days each)

  • AMAC SC Invitational - Nov 14-16th 2025 (3 days, Medicine Hat, SCM)

  • UCSC Holiday Classic Dec 13th-14th 2025 (2 days, Calgary, SCM)

    • All competitive groups

  • Winter Festivals January 23rd-25th 2025 (3 days, TBD, SCM)

    • Qualified only

  • Pronghorn Classic - March 13th-15th 2026 (3 days, Lethbridge, LCM/SCM)

    • All competitive groups

  • UCSC Dino Cup April 12th-13th 2026 (2 days, Calgary, SCM)

    • Age groups 11 & under boys, 10 & under girls

  • LASC Spring Classic - May 1st-3rd 2026 (3 days, Lethbridge, LCM)

    • All competitive groups

  • AMAC Marlin Mercenary Madness- May 22nd-24th 2026 (3 days, Medicine Hat, LCM)

    • All competitive groups

  • Summer Festivals - June 6th-7th 2026 (2 days, TBD, SCM)
