2026 Summer Festivals

Grande Prairie, AB — June 12–14, 2026 — Five qualified swimmers from the Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club competed at the Swim Alberta Summer Festivals in Grande Prairie over the weekend. Racing against 27 teams from across the province, the Marlins delivered strong performances highlighted by new personal bests, new achievements, and podium finishes.

Meet Awards

Swim of the Meet: Rixtonn Biffart. Rixtonn had numerous “stand-out” swims over the weekend which makes this award hard to pick just one race. Each time he showed up for a session or stood on the blocks to race, Rixtonn prioritized his focus towards his swim and gave it all he had. Rixtonn swam the 50m freestyle a number (5!) of times over the weekend; individually in prelims and finals, on the AMAC free and medley relay, as well as leading off the “North vs South” relay representing the South. And, each time he swam this race he showed dedication and discipline to make changes from the last time he did it. Because of that hard work, Rixtonn continued to drop time in the 50 free all weekend hitting a new personal best of 30.09 on Sunday. Great work, Rixtonn! 
 

Heart and Hustle: Saylee Mori. Saylee has worked extremely hard all season long to qualify for this meet and finally snagged a qualifying time just a couple weeks ago. At festivals, Saylee doubled-down on showing just how deserving she is to be there by achieving two more qualifying times in the 200m back and 100m breast. Not only did she race hard for herself, but Saylee brought the energy needed to the pool deck encouraging the entire team to succeed. She raced hard and cheered even harder. Congratulations, Saylee!
