Coaches Shout Out: 

LASC Spring Challenge: We had an excellent turnout of AMAC swimmers from all of our groups, ages ranging from 8 to 18, in Lethbridge this past weekend! It was exciting to see how well we can race when we have only been back in the water after Easter for a couple of days.

Huge shoutout to Katherine (Katie) McMillan who raced her first ever swim meet in Lethbridge this weekend!  

Swim Meet Awards:

  • Heart and Hustle: 

  • Henley Yonkman: Henley brought the “heart” to the pool this weekend as he encouraged his teammates, was ready to race when it was his time to shine, and was always on top of things like meet warm-up! Leading with such an upbeat attitude, Henley helped his teammates do their best and achieved many personal best times of his own! His coaches see how much hard work Henley has put into the season as an athlete and it is really paying off! Great job, Henley! 

  • Kolton Clarke: Kolton had an exceptional weekend in Lethbridge and this was noticed by all of the coaches on deck. Not only did he snag some big best times, showing off all of the hard work he has put in practice, he also did an outstanding job of communicating and executing his race plans before and after his races. After each swim he came back in a ready-to-learn mindset and discussed which skills he put in and which ones he wanted to keep working on. Kolton really put the “heart” and “hustle” into everything he did this weekend. Well done, Kolton! 

  • Swim Of The Meet: 

  • Wyatt Gage: Wyatt had a 200 Free and 100 Fly within the span of 15 mins of each other. Not only did her crush a best time in the 200 free, he was able to bring home his second 50 in the 100 fly back the fastest he has ever done snagging another best time! Seeing his mental toughness and maturity during his prep for those races and time in between was great to watch. Well done Wyatt! 

- Lucy Pattison: Lucy had many awesome swims in Lethbridge but the stand-out race to her coaches was her 200m breastroke! She put together an exceptional swim by following all of the feedback she gained over the weekend, and race plan, throughout the entire race. By putting in so much focus on her body position and other technique pieces, she was able to hit a new 50m best time on the first length and finish the 200 strong with a huge best time! Congratulations, Lucy!
