What a weekend it was at the Canadian Open this past weekend in Edmonton. We had some of Canada's biggest stars in the pool which made for some very fast prelim swims and very exciting finals! In order to make a second swim, you had to place in the top 20 of your events as it was an “open” age category which means you had to be right on your best times or go best times in the morning to see a second swim. Rowynn Biffart did just that all weekend long! Not only did she make second swims in 5/7 events, she got the chance to have a “swim-off” on her first day in the 200 free. During her first ever swim-off, Rowynn dropped 3 seconds from her PB in the morning with a 2:05 and won! This set the tone for the rest of the weekend where he had multiple second swims and was able to snag an “A” final swim in her 100 fly. Best times, club records and new qualifying times for Trials in June means that it was a very successful weekend for Rowynn and we as a club could not be happier for her accomplishments!
