Swim(s) of the Meet: The “Swim(s) of the Meet” go to our two courageous 10&under AMAC girls who braved their first ever 100m butterfly!

Braelynn Gale swam her first ever 100 butterfly under the estimated entry time and did amazing! Throughout her entire race she followed the race plan given and maintained the technique that she has been working hard on in practice. By keeping her arms nice and straight and having a big and non-stop dolphin kick throughout the swim she exceeded any and all expectations! Braelynn chose this race as a challenge for herself and we hope she is as proud of herself for doing it as her coaches are of her! Congrats Braelynn!

Marsha Van Der Merwe swam her first ever 100 butterfly and did so after an extremely long weekend of racing. What impressed the coaches most about Marsha’s race was her ability to put some of the stresses of the day behind her, in a very short turnaround time, and find excitement for this swim! Completing a 100 butterfly was one of Marsha’s major goals for this season and to be able to have done it so soon into the season, and with fantastic technique makes it even better! Very well done, Marsha!

Heart and Hustle: Ashlyn Dornian had an overall amazing weekend, leaving it hard for her coaches to choose just one race as a standout! She followed her race plans and brought forward the elements she has been working on in practice to her swims leaving not only a very technically well-done weekend of racing but also an extremely fast one! Not only did she race well but she was also a superstar cheerleader for her AMAC teammates and whenever they were in the water, Ashlyn was over there cheering them on! Way to go, Ashlyn!
