Cascade Speed Review: We had a really great showing in Calgary this last weekend! Loads of best times, new qualifying times obtained, lots of second swims and top place finishes. All around just a fantastic meet for just our second weekend of racing for lots of these swimmers.
Swim(s) of the Meet: Rowynn Biffart had 6 events this last weekend as was able to place either 1st or 2nd in all of her swims at finals and set record after record after record! The elevation she found at finals was so awesome and everyone who was on the side of the deck had a great time cheering her on from the side! Her 100IM time she swam in finals puts her at the 17th fastest time swam in that event as a 16 year old. Well done Row!
Heart and Hustle: Caen McWilliams had a very solid weekend from start to finish. Not only was he able to find best times in all of his events at finals, he was tossed into the boys 50 free as an alternate at the last second, stepped up and won the heat going a big best time and almost joined the 25 second club in the 50 free! I would say the swim that stood out the most was the 200 backstroke. Caen started the meet with a time of 2:21, swam a 2:17 in the morning and snagged a 3rd place finish at finals with a time of 2:14. This swim was against some of the boys he raced this last summer at Nationals and he showed that he is ready to keep at that same level and elevate his swimming when it matters most. Well done Caen!
